Remus Sferle — Cyber Assessor & Consultant

As Cyber Assessor and Consultant at Advitspace, I combine hands-on cybersecurity knowledge with a practical, client-focused approach to security assessment, compliance and cyber risk.

My role centres on conducting IASME Cyber Essentials and Cyber Assurance assessments, working directly with organisations to understand their systems, security controls and processes, identify gaps and provide practical guidance for remediation.

For Cyber Essentials, I assess the implementation of the core technical controls and support organisations in preparing for certification. For Cyber Assurance, I take a broader view, considering governance, risk management, policies, people, processes and continual improvement.

As a consultant, I help clients translate cybersecurity and compliance requirements into clear, achievable actions that are appropriate to their organisation and risk profile. My work covers areas including secure configuration, access control, vulnerability management, network security, asset management and security governance.

I support clients from initial gap assessments and readiness through remediation, certification and ongoing assurance, with a focus on practical improvements rather than simply meeting a checklist.

Before moving into cybersecurity, I trained and practised as a surgeon within the NHS. This experience shapes my approach to security through an appreciation of operational pressure, complex and legacy environments, attention to detail and the real-world consequences of system failures.

I enjoy working where clinical-grade attention to detail meets practical cybersecurity — assessing security objectively, explaining risk clearly and helping organisations build stronger, sustainable security practices.

At Advitspace, I contribute to the strategic, commercial and operational development of the consultancy, bringing together my background in law, regulation and emerging technologies with a strong focus on cybersecurity and business strategy.

My role is centred on building relationships, developing partnerships, shaping our advisory offering and supporting the day-to-day management of the business. I work closely with clients and partners to understand their challenges, explore new opportunities and connect them with the right expertise and practical solutions.

As part of a specialist consultancy, my role is both strategic and hands-on — from developing new business opportunities and managing key relationships to supporting business operations, organisational development and the continued growth of Advitspace.

I enjoy working at the point where technology, regulation and business meet, helping turn complex challenges into clear, actionable opportunities.

I bring more than 20 years of experience as an EU-qualified attorney with extensive experience in emerging technologies, including space law and the regulatory frameworks governing space activities.
